FOR RICHER

CHAPTER 9

THE RED MIST

“If it’s a relationship you’re after, perhaps I will do!”

Tania was so astonished she stopped in her tracks and forced herself to face him.

“Another addition to your stable!” she scoffed sarcastically. “No way! but thanks for the offer,” she spat out. “However, I’m not the slightest bit interested.”

“Really, are you sure? Then perhaps I can persuade you!” he growled, reaching the door before she did and to her utter astonishment he picked her up and placed her down in front of a tall mirror where she had placed her dress. Holding her there in an iron grip he threw the dress on the floor and stood behind her their angry reflection peering back at them.

“What are you dong! let me go!” she spat out furiously, trying to prise herself free. He gripped her shoulders tightly forcing her to look in the mirror. She was incensed, trying to wriggle out of his grip, hair flying everywhere, eyes on fire.

“You’ve lost the plot Mr Fraser! That’s what happens when you mix with your sort of woman!”

A red mist was beginning to envelope her senses and she knew she had to calm down. “Say what you have to and then leave.”

“Look at you Tania!” he ordered not responding to her taunts. “Look in the damned mirror! You are a beautiful sensuous woman with a body to give a man sleepless nights. Gerard Bartise is a boy. You would be wasted on him!”

“But not on you I suppose!” she answered sarcastically.
